A practical example
Fictional example. Replace the details and rates before use. CAD rates are illustrations, not price recommendations.
| Description | Quantity | Unit | Rate (CAD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Moving crew service - fictional example | 1 | hour | 0 |
| Packing cartons - fictional example | 1 | box | 0 |
What to fill in
- State the agreed move reference and service date.
- Specify whether crew rate is per person or for the whole crew; keep shipment contracts separate.
Explain the crew-time calculation
State whether the hourly rate covers the entire crew or one mover. If it covers the crew, quantity is the billable crew hours; do not multiply those hours by the number of movers again. Identify the service date and move reference used in the agreement.
Separate the move from additional services
Packing, unpacking, supplied cartons and an additional stop can be separate agreed tasks. Describe which are included in the main move charge before adding extras. Keep the goods inventory and transport documents separate so the invoice stays a readable account of charges.
Moving invoice questions
Is the hour rate per mover or per crew?
You decide. State the basis in the row description and enter quantity consistently to avoid double billing.
Can I include waiting time or an extra stop?
Only on the basis agreed for the move. Identify the stop or waiting period and its billing unit, and check that it is not already covered by the main fee.
Is this a transport contract or inventory?
No. It does not replace a bill of lading, goods inventory or damage assessment.
