PDF is for printing, without fillable fields. Word tables are editable; neither format calculates totals. Excel: eight lines, CAD only. Quantities: 0–10,000, up to three decimals. Rates: 0–10,000, up to two decimals. Each line rounds half up to cents. No tax, discounts, shipping, deposits or payment balance calculations. Review inputs and totals.

A practical example
Fictional example. Replace the details and rates before use. CAD rates are illustrations, not price recommendations.
| Description | Quantity | Unit | Rate (CAD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Custom shelving installation - fictional example | 1 | hour | 0 |
| Timber and fittings - fictional example | 1 | lot | 0 |
What to fill in
- Name the fitted item and agreed dimensions in its description.
- Distinguish fabrication, fitting and material charges where relevant.
Identify the piece of woodwork
Name the fitted item, location and agreed size or drawing reference. For several cabinets or shelving units, distinguish the pieces sufficiently for the customer to match quantities to the work delivered. An internal cut list is not a useful substitute for that description.
Show where the work happened
Workshop fabrication and on-site fitting can be billed as separate stages when agreed. Describe which stage is covered by the current bill and whether finishing is included. Count separately priced hinges, handles or other hardware using a unit that matches the order.
Carpentry invoice questions
Can I bill fabrication before on-site fitting?
Yes, when your agreement makes that stage separately payable. Label it as fabrication of the named piece rather than describing the installation as completed.
Can I separate workshop and site time?
Yes. Use distinct rows for fabrication and installation with your recorded hours.
How do I show supplied hardware?
Add a hardware row with an item, set or lot unit when separately priced.
