Rates: 0–10,000, up to two decimals. Each line rounds half up to cents. No tax, discounts, shipping, deposits or payment balance calculations. Review inputs and totals.

A practical example
Fictional example. Replace the details and rates before use. CAD rates are illustrations, not price recommendations.
| Description | Quantity | Unit | Rate (CAD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wall preparation and painting - fictional example | 1 | hour | 0 |
| Paint supply - fictional example | 1 | can | 0 |
What to fill in
- Identify the rooms or surfaces and the agreed coat scope.
- Separate supplied coatings from labour if priced separately.
Describe the coating scope by surface
Separate walls, ceilings, doors or trim when their agreed scopes differ. Identify the room, finish and coat scope needed to recognize the completed work. An agreed room price can cover the whole task; it does not need to be restated as additional labour hours.
Explain preparation before the finish
Patching, sanding or removal of an old coating may be included in the painting price or agreed separately. State which basis applies. If additional preparation was agreed after work began, identify that change rather than describing it as another full painting job.
Painting invoice questions
Can I price by room instead of hour?
Yes. Change the unit to room or project and use the corresponding agreed quantity and rate.
What if the customer supplied the paint?
Bill the agreed preparation and painting work, and identify the coating as customer-supplied if helpful. Do not add a paint supply charge for materials you did not provide.
Can I bill preparation separately?
Yes. Use a preparation row if the agreement separates it from painting labour.
