PDF is for printing, without fillable fields. Word tables are editable; neither format calculates totals. Excel: eight lines, CAD only. Quantities: 0–10,000, up to three decimals. Rates: 0–10,000, up to two decimals. Each line rounds half up to cents. No tax, discounts, shipping, deposits or payment balance calculations. Review inputs and totals.

A practical example
Fictional example. Replace the details and rates before use. CAD rates are illustrations, not price recommendations.
| Description | Quantity | Unit | Rate (CAD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Floor installation - fictional example | 1 | square metre | 0 |
| Underlay supply - fictional example | 1 | square metre | 0 |
What to fill in
- State the room and measured area with a consistent unit.
- Explain whether removal, levelling and waste allowances are included.
Keep installed area distinct from material supplied
The floor area laid and the material quantity purchased need not be identical. Name the room and flooring type on the installation row, then state any separately billed material quantity on its own basis. Explain an agreed allowance without presenting it as extra installed area.
Identify the work beneath and around the floor
Old-floor removal, subfloor preparation, underlay and trims can have separate agreed prices. Identify what was actually completed rather than folding all of it into an unexplained area rate. Keep technical moisture readings and installation records with the job documentation.
Flooring invoice questions
Does quantity include waste allowance?
Only if you enter it. Explain any agreed allowance in the description; it is not calculated automatically.
How do I bill trims that are priced by length?
Use a separate row with the measured length and matching linear unit and rate. Do not put a trim length against the floor installation’s area rate.
Can I use square feet?
Yes. Change the unit label and enter the corresponding quantity and rate; units are not converted.
